Introducing Kerri

Mascot Launch

Sparkle Launched a new mascot that was originally designed and created for use in just one TV spot. We were tasked with building a launch campaign around this character with very limited assets. We came up with a strategy to weave her into the newly redesigned site, upcoming social posts, and to include her in an upcoming digital banner campaign.

My Role : I was the Art Director on all digital media. I was in charge of all photo retouching, turning behind the scene snapshots into hero images. Later on I also produced physical costume wings for a social video because CGI wings would have pushed the project over budget and delayed delivery.

Creating Wings

After the initial launch, the client wanted to create additional content using Kerri. The plan was to use her to create near real time social videos and comment on current events, and pop culture trends, all while promoting a new product launch.

The challlenge was that the CGI wings used in the original TV spot couldn’t be produced quickly enough within the project budget. To keep the project alive, I created physical versions of the CGI wings that could be worn and shot practically in the social videos. These were created in a couple days, and finished just in time for the first shoot date.
